The American College of Cardiology has recognized Tufts Medicine Lowell General Hospital for its demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients who come to a cardiac cath lab for care, including diagnostic catheterizations and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures. Lowell General Hospital was awarded Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation with PCI in July based on rigorous onsite evaluation of the staff’s ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients who come to the cardiac cath lab. On Sunday, May 21, thousands of survivors and supporters came together on the streets of Lowell to make that journey a little easier. On a beautiful spring day, the 24th annual TeamWalk for CancerCare raised more than $661,000, money that will go directly to patients in the Merrimack Valley. A cancer diagnosis is a life-changing moment and the start of a difficult journey. The event, held during Nurses Week, honors those who exemplify the unwavering commitment to patient care that is a hallmark of the nursing profession. Honorees were nominated for the award by their peers.
