Oxygen Therapy
Oxygen therapy is a treatment that provides patients with extra oxygen. Oxygen therapy is used when patients are facing conditions that prevent them from receiving enough oxygen. It is used in those with COPD, pneumonia, severe asthma attacks, late-stage heart failure, cystic fibrosis, and sleep apnea.
Oxygen is supplied in a metal cylinder and is delivered to the lungs through a nasal cannula, face mask, or a small tube inserted into the windpipe.
