Dr. LaPointe is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist focused on patient general medicine at Lowell General Hospital. She is responsible for proving decentralized pharmacy services on the internal medicine floors where she also precepts APPE students.
Dr. LaPointe received her doctorate in pharmacy from Northeastern University and completed a PGY-1 residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is an associate professor of pharmacy practice at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Her teaching and scholarly interests are in the area of medication safety, women’s health and student mentoring; and she has published and presented on these topics, both regionally and nationally.
Dr. LaPointe is involved in the Massachusetts Society of Health System Pharmacists, and has served as the organization’s president and on the board of directors. She is a fellow and active member of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) and serves on the organization’s Section Advisory Group on Pharmacy Practice Experiences. Dr. LaPointe previously served as ASHP’s student chapter faculty liaison and as a member of the section of inpatient care practitioner’s education subcommittee. She has been active in American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) programming committee as well as the AACP Women Faculty SIG and has served as AACP delegate.
