Monty S. Shah MD

Dr. Shah is a member of the American College of Radiology, the American Board of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the Society of Breast Imaging, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the New England Roentgen Ray Society, and RADPAC, which is the political action committee for the American College of Radiology Association.
Dr. Shah told his parents when he was a mere six years old that he wanted to be a doctor when he grew up. He admitted he never thought much of that story, but over time he became really interested in the math and sciences and had a personality of wanting to help others in need.
“During medical school I remember sitting in class one afternoon when a guest volunteer patient told all of us, ‘You all are really smart, but be more than that. Be smart and an excellent listener.' To this day I remember those words, and I always think about that patient who taught me an important part of being the type of physician I am today.”
Professionally, Dr. Shah says practicing in the Boston area is a big advantage in staying current in the rapidly-changing field of medicine. With many leading hospitals and colleges nearby, there is never a lack of educational stimulation.
What is Dr. Shah’s care philosophy?
“The patients always come first. Stay positive and be humble. Listen to the patients and they will teach you something new every day.”
Outside of work, Dr. Shah enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two sons, traveling near and far and experiencing various restaurants, as well as playing card games and watching sports.
