Justin R. Routhier MD

Dr. Routhier is a member of the American College of Radiology and the American Roentgen Ray Society.
Dr. Routhier chose the field of radiology because of its unique diagnostic capabilities, its invaluable service to other physicians, and ultimately its significant role in guiding patient care. In particular, he finds breast imaging compelling because of its frequent patient interaction.
“In many cases, the radiologist is hidden from the patient, but breast imaging in many ways operates more like a clinic. I strive to see every patient to discuss her imaging results and recommendations face to face.
I also enjoy the continuity of care in breast imaging. Sometimes we are involved in one patient’s care from her screening mammogram, to her diagnostic work-up, to a biopsy if needed, and it’s rewarding to develop that relationship. I try to put myself in the patients’ shoes and treat and care for them as I would want my loved ones to be treated - that is, with compassion, empathy, and honesty."
What is Dr. Routhier’s care philosophy?
“My philosophy is to never forget the person behind the image. Being able to integrate both diagnostic imaging and clinical skills into my daily practice is the ultimate privilege.”
Outside of work, Dr. Routhier enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, who inspire him to cherish each day, work hard, ask questions, and treat others with respect. His other passions include music, exercise, and being out in nature.
