Inpatient Mask Guidelines

To ensure the safety of all our patients during the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) emergency, patients over the age of two are now encouraged to wear a mask during their course of their stay. This policy follows updated guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as an order from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to ensure safety in areas where social distancing is not possible.

We recognize that wearing a mask may not be possible for all patients, including those who may have trouble breathing or are incapacitated in any way and unable to remove the mask without assistance. Masks are provided upon entrance to the hospital or while being treated in the Emergency Department. Patients that are admitted to the hospital will also receive a mask in their room, and will be encouraged to put it on when healthcare providers and staff enter to provide care.
