Lowell General Hospital Partners with AngelEye Health to Connect Special Care Nursery Babies and Families

Lowell General Hospital recently went live with a new state-of-the art camera system in the Special Care Nursery (NICU unit). The new system from AngelEye Health brings secure, HIPAA-compliant live-streaming patient video to families to help support bonding when they cannot be at the hospital. Now, parents and other family members can log on through a secure network with a personal password so they can see their baby at any time on their phone, computer, or tablet. The Main campus received Gold Plus status, while the Saints campus achieved Silver Plus status. Both Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines are available locally for children ages 6 months through 5 years of age via the state-run vaccine clinic being operated by Cataldo Ambulance at the Lowell General Hospital Saints Campus located at One Hospital Drive in Lowell. Cataldo will be adding more days in order to accommodate the increased demand. On Thursday, May 12, hospital leadership celebrated the accomplishments of our Patient Care Services team at the annual Nursing Excellence Awards held at Vesper Country Club in Tyngsboro, MA. The event, held during Nurses Week, honors those who exemplify the unwavering commitment to patient care that is a hallmark of the nursing profession. Honorees were nominated for the award by their peers. In addition, Lowell General presents the Florence Nightingale Award to a nurse who emulates the enduring symbol of Florence Nightingale herself and represents the mission, hopes and expectations of the nursing profession to its members and to the world at large.
