Visitor Policy Change to Allow One Visitor/Support Person
Effective Tuesday, February 8, Lowell General Hospital will lift visitor restrictions to allow one visitor/support person (over the age of 18) at a time per patient during the designated visitor hours of 1:00pm to 7:00pm daily. Our Emergency Department and Urgent Care locations will also permit one visitor/support person at a time per patient during all hours of operation. Some visiting hours exceptions will be in place for areas such as maternity, and additional exemptions may be made based on the clinical team’s discretion. View our current Visitor Policy effective February 8.

To protect our staff, patients, and visitors, we will continue our current safety practices for visitation:
- All visitors will continue to be screened upon entry
- Visitors will be required to perform hand hygiene
- Anyone entering will be required to change to a clean hospital-issued mask to wear throughout the entirety of their visit.
We recognize how important the support of loved ones is to the care and healing of our patients, and we are grateful to be able to facilitate this change with as we emerge from the challenges of the recent COVID-19 surge.
