Lowell General has once again been recognized for the outstanding care we provide patients suffering from a stroke. The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association honored both campuses for our continued success using the Get With the Guidelines and Target: Type 2 Diabetes quality improvement programs. The main campus was named a Stroke Silver Plus with Elite Honor Roll and the Saints campus was named a Stroke Silver Plus. Both were given the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll.
The Get With the Guidelines program represents the latest evidence-based treatment guidelines for stroke care, leading to improved outcomes and better patient care.
Lowell General also received the Coverdell Award by the state Department of Public Health for achieving Door to CT within 25 minutes from arrival for at least 75% of stroke patients, as well as recognition for participation in a Coverdell Stroke Systems of Care partnership with EMS providers in quality improvement measures.
