Cafua Management Company Dunkin’ locations serve up $21,000 TeamWalk donation

2022 Coffee for a Cause campaign

Leaders from Lowell General Hospital and our Cancer Center joined members of the Cafua Management Company, the largest private Dunkin’ franchise in the United States, at Dunkin’ on Pawtucket Boulevard in Lowell recently to accept a donation in the amount of $21,000.

The money, raised as part of the company’s Coffee for a Cause campaign, supports Lowell General Hospital’s TeamWalk for CancerCare and its efforts to assist cancer patients in the Merrimack Valley by paying for medications, nutritional supplements, wigs, support groups, transportation, and much more.

The donation comes from proceeds raised through Cafua’s Coffee for a Cause raffle on National Coffee Day, September 29, which awarded a year of free coffee to 100 customers at each of seven separate Cafua Dunkin’ locations. Cafua Management Company then matched the amount.

“At Cafua Management, part of our mission statement is to give back to the communities we serve,” said Felice Cafua, an owner. “TeamWalk for CancerCare is the kind of partnership that allows us to bring something special back to the people of Greater Lowell.”

TeamWalk funds go directly to cancer patients in need through grants, support and other Cafua Management Company Dunkin’ locations serve up $21,000 TeamWalk donation assistance. Over the past 22 years, TeamWalk for CancerCare has become one of the largest fundraisers in the Merrimack Valley, raising more than $15 million and helping tens of thousands of patients.

The leadership teams of Lowell General and Cafua Management came together on Thursday, October 13 at the Cafua Dunkin’ on Pawtucket Boulevard for the check presentation.

“We offer an incredibly high level of care at our Cancer Center, and TeamWalk lets our patients know – we’ve got you,” said Lowell General CEO Jody White. “Thanks to the generosity of Cafua Management, these funds will help patients pay bills, afford transportation to appointments and more, which lets them focus on their treatment and recovery.”
