Administrative Changes at Lowell General Hospital Announced
At the annual meeting of Circle Health, president and CEO Normand E. Deschene spoke about the "extraordinary opportunity before us to completely transform the way health care is delivered in Greater Lowell and throughout the Merrimack Valley."
Deschene stated that the introduction of Circle Health – and its promise of delivering "complete connected care" – "builds upon but goes beyond the work we have accomplished at Lowell General Hospital in creating one of the best community hospitals in the country." Circle Health takes health care a step further in creating a completely integrated network which provides individuals and families with all the resources they need to stay or become healthy.
Over the past six months, Deschene indicated that he had been devoting more of his time and energy to building Circle Health in collaboration with its affiliated physicians, Circle Health's Chief Medical Officer Dr. David Pickul and its partner organizations, including Lowell Community Health Center, Visiting Nurse Association of Greater Lowell, Greater Lowell Health Alliance and other community-based organizations.
With Deschene retaining his roles as CEO of Lowell General Hospital and president and CEO of Circle Health, he announced two administrative changes within Lowell General, which is one of the lead partners in developing Circle Health. Effective June 1, current Lowell General Hospital executive vice president and COO Joseph (Jody) White will become president of Lowell General Hospital, and current chief nursing officer Amy Hoey will assume the position of executive vice president and COO.
"This decision will afford me the opportunity to fully realize the vision of Circle Health by focusing my full attention on expanding its scope and developing its systems and operations to deliver complete connected care," said Deschene. "Jody White has done a stellar job over the last 10 years as COO, overseeing our most successful growth initiatives. I look forward to continuing to work alongside him in building the best integrated community healthcare system in the state."
Born of collaboration among community physicians, Lowell General, Lowell Community Health Center, Visiting Nurse Association of Greater Lowell and Greater Lowell Health Alliance, Circle Health represents a unique community-based approach to care and will be a new force for positive change in how individuals, families, and communities experience and improve their health. The collaboration supports on-going investment in new technologies, advanced clinical expertise, the most innovative treatment approaches and medical best practices, individual and community health management, augmented by partnerships with leading academic medical centers and specialty clinics.
