Once you see The Birthplace, you'll know there's no other place you'd want to have your baby.
This is approximately a one-hour tour of the Lowell General Hospital Birthplace, located at our Main Campus on 295 Varnum Avenue in Lowell, MA.
**Please note: This is only a brief tour of The Birthplace. Should you have any detailed questions, we invite you to attend one of our childbirth education classes held on-site.
Who Should Enroll?
Enroll expectant mom only. One partner may attend but does not need to be enrolled. No children under the age of 14 may tour the Labor and Delivery portion of the Birthplace.
Please call 978-942-2189 to cancel if unable to attend.
The tour requires a lot of walking and comfortable shoes are suggested. Wheelchairs are available; if you would like one, please let your educator know before the tour begins. We also recommend that you dress in layers since the temperature on the units can fluctuate. We also suggest eating before you attend your tour. For your convenience, there is a Dunkin' Donuts located in the Main Lobby of the hospital.
Tours are led by a staff person who can answer questions about The Birthplace.
If Lowell public schools are closed due to weather, classes/events held by the Center for Community Health and Wellness will also be cancelled.
