Special Guest Billy Costa Highlights Auxiliary’s Annual Taste of the Town

The Lowell General Hospital Auxiliary’s 31st Annual Taste of the Town went off in style on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017 as more than 350 guests raised over $68,000 to continue the Auxiliary’s dedicated efforts in supporting patients and services at Lowell General Hospital.

The evening featured amazing culinary creations from some of Merrimack Valley’s finest chefs, caterers and restaurants, as well as music from the Richie Dee Quartet. The event got some added flair from special guest, radio and television personality Billy Costa from Kiss 108’s Matty in the Morning and NESN’s Dining Playbook. Costa interviewed each restaurant, led the evening’s live auction and even donated a special auction item – a group tour of the Kiss 108 studios and a chance to announce a song on iHeart Radio’s Top 30 Countdown.

Attendees voted on their favorite tasting dishes, and the evening’s People’s Choice Award winners were: Kobe Spring Rolls by Nobo (Best Appetizer); Lobster Mac and Cheese by Sodexo (best entrée); and Chocolate Pots de Crème by Two Chefs are Better than One (best dessert). In addition to the People’s Choice Awards, the Auxiliary presented the Chairmen’s Choice Award for best presentation to UMASS Lowell Inn and Conference Center.

Paticipating restaurants also included: 110 Grill, Andiamo, British Beer Company, Burtons Grill, Evviva Cucina, I Dream of Jeanne Cakes, Mariano’s Ristorante, Nobo Restaurant, NoLo Bistro and Bar, Sodexo, Stonehedge Hotel and Spa, Stones Hospitality Group, The Establishment, The Irish Cottage, Two Chefs are Better Than One and UMass Lowell Inn and Conference Center.Attendees voted on their favorite tasting dishes, and the evening’s People’s Choice Award winners were: Kobe Spring Rolls by Nobo (Best Appetizer); Lobster Mac and Cheese by Sodexo (best entrée); and Chocolate Pots de Crème by Two Chefs are Better than One (best dessert).
