“Josie demonstrates that service, whether to our patients or to employees, is what gives meaning to her daily life. She consistently goes above and beyond in everything she does,” says Gabriela Bradburn, Manager of Interpreter Services, of January’s Star Performer, Joseline (Josie) Tejada. “She is always willing to help, always willing to serve, and always there for any of us.”
Josie is Coordinator of Interpreter Services and has worked for Lowell General Hospital for the past 10 years. She began her career with Lowell General in the Hospitality and Support Services Department and joined the Interpreter Services team six years ago. In addition to being a dedicated medical interpreter who helps ensure clear and accurate communication between healthcare providers and patients, she supports many other aspects of the department including managing the ServiceHub interpreter request system and producing the department newsletter.
“When Josie joined the Interpreter Services Department, it very quickly became clear that she is a passionate and skillful person,” adds Gabriela. “There is no task that she will not take on, and she welcomes new challenges and responsibilities.”
Josie consistently receives Spotlight on You recognitions for her dedication and commitment to colleagues and patients throughout the hospital. One Spotlight submitter shared, “Josie went above and beyond to help the medical team connect with a family member by phone. She continued to try to reach this family member multiple times and assisted the team in communicating about a variety of complex issues. I greatly appreciate all of her time and efforts to ensure seamless communication.”
Interpreter Paul Seng says, “Josie always shares her technical skills and knowledge with her coworkers, and is a resource to the entire team. When a call comes in, no matter from whom, or what the call is for, Josie pleasantly helps with an open heart.”
Josie lives in Nashua, New Hampshire with her children Natalie and AJ. Outside of work Josie enjoys spending time with her kids and taking them to movies, parks, arcades and museums.
Congratulations Joseline! You're a star!
