“Bonnie sees patients at their most vulnerable and stressful time,” says Linda Mclellan, RN in M3, of May’s Star Performer, Bonnie Boie. “She is a kind and compassionate nurse and provides care to the whole patient, physically and mentally.”

Bonnie is a certified wound and ostomy nurse and has worked at Lowell General Hospital since 2011. She specializes in the assessment and recommendations and treatment of wounds and ostomies for both the inpatient and outpatient population, seeing patients at the main and Saints campuses.

“I have a passion for caring and making a difference in the lives of others,” says Bonnie. “I strive to deliver exceptional care to my patients and to consistently improve patient outcomes.”

Linda says, “Bonnie helps patients with their self-esteem after a life-changing and difficult event and provides support, nursing care, and a kind, gentle approach so they can function each day with a wound or an ostomy. She is selfless, giving and a great asset to Lowell General Hospital.”

“Bonnie is highly regarded by the doctors, nurses, and patients that she serves,” adds Linda. “She often works late to see a large number of patients, comes in during off-shifts to see patients, if needed, and many times has even come in on her day off to get a difficult wound ready so the patient’s discharge is seamless and accurate.”

“I make every effort to ensure that each patient feels as though they are my only patient,” says Bonnie. “Connecting with my patients is invaluable to me and I make a constant effort to make sure it is a positive connection.”

Bonnie lives in Whitinsville with her two children, Isabelle and Bianca, and her boyfriend Daniel. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her children and anything that involves the sunshine, including riding her horses and taking motorcycle trips.

Congratulations Bonnie! You're a star!
