“Amy leads with confidence, respect and calmness. Her ability to see the big picture is remarkable, and her coworkers and the providers look to her for guidance and reassurance,” says Danielle Dolan, RN, Clinical Leader of Labor and Delivery, of December’s Star Performer, Amy Sindoni. “She is quick to help out others and advocates for all patients.”
Amy is a Labor and Delivery nurse and has worked for Lowell General Hospital since 2008. She began her career in Labor and Delivery as a Surgical Technician, graduated from nursing school, and now is a nurse leader for the department. “As long as I can remember I have wanted to make a difference in people’s lives by helping them when they need it most,” says Amy.
“Staff and providers love Amy. She is always going above and beyond for patients, providers and especially her peers,” says Liz Lydstone, Director of Maternal Child Health. “There are not enough words to tell you how very proud I am of the amazing person, nurse and passionate charge nurse in Labor and Delivery that Amy has grown into through the years. She is a true leader; a quiet, compassionate human being who never asks for anything for herself, only for others.”
Danielle shares that recently one of Amy’s coworkers came to her and said, “Amy is simply amazing! She can see what everyone needs and helps them to get done what needs to get done. She is a peacemaker and is so calm in any situation.”
“I have watched Amy run neonatal codes with confidence and calmness,” adds Danielle. “She is able to adapt to any role that the code calls for, and I have had many Pediatric Hospitalists sing the praises of Amy. Not only does she give it her all, she always follows up with the mom and baby’s status on her next shift. Amy has a heart of gold!”
Amy lives in Bradford with her husband, Joshua, and their children Kole, Ryder and Lillian. Amy also cares for her husband’s grandmother who lives with them. Outside of work Amy enjoys spending time with her family and friends and attending her sons’ sporting events.
Congratulations Amy! You're a star!
