“Words cannot describe how helpful Sheryl is to the inpatient division. She prepares several budget reports on a monthly basis for all of the units, and sits with us to help analyze our data,” says Susan Santana, Director of Inpatient Services, of April’s Star Performer, Sheryl Castellano. “Sheryl is an invaluable asset here at Lowell General.”

In her role as Senior Budget and Finance Analyst, Sheryl helps numerous departments understand raw data, reviews department expenses compared to the budget, and works with statistics and data for service line and payor trends. She began working at Saints Medical Center in 2009, and will celebrate her 10 year anniversary with Lowell General Hospital this November.

“Sheryl’s input on the development of a regulatory reporting document on behalf of the Finance Department is outstanding,” says Sukie Connolly, RN, Manager of Occupational Health. “She is a star and we truly appreciate all of her hard work and dedication.”

Liz Lydstone, Director of Maternal Child Health, adds “Sheryl is immediately responsive to every inquiry and request, no matter how busy she is. She will assist in any way possible, and often sends the final document along with an explanation of how she pulled the data or information. Sheryl’s highest qualities include strategic thinking, managing change, knowledge of financial goals in each division, and technological financial expertise.”

“Sheryl not only excels in her role, but truly cares about those she interacts with,” says Diane Regan, Director of Professional Practice. “No matter how much is going on with a fast moving work environment, she takes an opportunity to get to know people and build relationships.”

Judy Canal, Director of Imaging Services, says “Sheryl is an absolute gem! She always has a smile on her face and will help with any financial question.”

Sheryl lives in Hudson with her partner Ed and two cats, Oreo and Cookie. When she is not at work she enjoys spending time outdoors. In the winter she shares her passion for riding snowmobiles with Ed and friends, and in the summer she enjoys motorcycle rides and spending time on Winnisquam Lake in New Hampshire.

Congratulations Sheryl! You're a star!
