Excellence in Professional Nursing Image
Myra has worked at Lowell General for the past 13 years as a medical-surgical staff nurse, clinical leader, and recent clinical manager of D4. Myra’s favorite nursing moment was when D4 was chosen as Outstanding Team during the hospital’s Nurses Week this year.
Myra’s nominations for this award came from fellow nurses and cardiologists. Their letters reflect on her supportive nature, the way she fosters growth and development of her staff, how she embraces change and engages with nurses to identify ways to ensure reduction of errors and improve patient safety on D4. Myra has been a champion for leading efforts at reduction in falls, improving patient flow, improving congestive heart failure (CHF) care, advocating for education and more. In the words of Dr. MacNaught, cardiologist in the Heart and Vascular Center, “Myra has shown great interest in improving the quality of patient care. She is a kind person, a caring nurse and is beloved by her co-workers on D4.”
When Myra has free time, she enjoys spending time with family watching movies.
