Gifts In Kind

A gift-in-kind is a contribution of goods or services that can be used to advance the mission of Lowell General Hospital. We accept the following types of goods and services as donations – if you have specific questions, please contact givinglgh@tuftsmedicine.org or 978-937-6696.

The Philanthropy department will document the contribution of a gift-in-kind in its donor database and issue a receipt to the donor. The receipt will contain only a description of the contribution and will not include a statement as to the value of the contribution in alignment with IRS regulations. It will further contain a statement as to what, if any, goods or services were given in exchange for the contribution.

Gift Cards / Tickets

The Philanthropy Department frequently accepts donations of gift cards, sports/event tickets, museum passes and other types of items. These gifts can be incorporated into raffle or auction items at our special events or used for employee recognition purposes. To donate an item, please contact givinglgh@tuftsmedicine.org or 978-937-6696.

Meals and Snacks for Frontline Workers

Each day, our clinicians and staff face challenging circumstances yet continue to provide exceptional care to our patients.. Many have reached out wanting to coordinate meal deliveries for departments and for those interested in doing so we offer the following guidelines:

  • Unsolicited drop-offs of meals are not encouraged and we ask you to connect with a member of the philanthropy team before coordinating a delivery.
  • When possible, items that are individually wrapped or packaged are preferred.
  • All meals must come from a Serv-Safe restaurant or caterer. Due to infection prevention protocols, homemade meals are not accepted.

Please contact givinglgh@tuftsmedicine.org with any questions or to schedule a drop off.

Toys & Books

Toys and book donations are accepted but must be in unused condition. Due to infection prevention protocols, we cannot accept used items.

Clothing & Blankets

We accept donations of new, unwashed clothing and blankets to distribute to patients in need. Areas of greatest need are onesies for infants and socks and long sleeve shirts for adults. Due to infection prevention protocols, we cannot accept used or handmade items.

Medical Supplies

Generally, we do not accept donations of used or unused medical supplies, but these types of donations are reviewed on a case by case basis. If you have questions, please contact givinglgh@tuftsmedicine.org and a member of our team will assist you.
