A global threat like COVID-19 affects more than just the infected. A pandemic like this touches every person on the planet, and it presents an opportunity to come together as a community.

We are overwhelmed by the inspiring wave of support for our patients and employees. We are more convinced than ever that the Greater Lowell community is generous like no other. During these challenging times, there are so many of you who have reached out to offer assistance, and for that, please accept our sincere appreciation.

For those who have asked directly how they can support, we offer the following donation recommendations and guidelines:

Your support is more important now than ever. A financial contribution to the COVID-19 Relief Fund at Lowell General Hospital allows us to respond to the most urgent needs of our hospital, staff and patients. Your gift allows us to support our workforce as they courageously care for our patients every day.

Meal Donations

Our staff is working incredibly hard and we have received offers from community members to provide lunch or dinner for entire departments. Our team is happy to coordinate a meal drop-off for a group within our hospital at designated drop-off times. All food deliveries must come from ServSafe certified vendors and we are unable to accept donated homemade meals at this time. To coordinate or to get more information, please email:

Support Our Staff

Each day, our clinicians and staff bravely confront the COVID-19 Pandemic in order to provide exceptional care to our patients. We have had an outpouring of support from our community in assuring that our staff is well cared for as they navigate this challenging time. To support our staff, we are accepting donations of the following items:

Food Items:

  • Cases of Bottled Water
  • Cases of Bottled Gatorade or Powerade
  • Breakfast Bars, Protein Bars and Granola Bars
  • Snack Packs of Chips, Crackers and Cookies
  • Candy, Mints and Gum

All food items must be new in packaging and individually wrapped.

Non-Food Items:

  • Cell Phone Chargers (Apple and Android)
  • Cards and Thank You Letters for our staff
  • Gift Cards (more information below)

Please note, unscheduled drop-offs at our campuses are discouraged at this time. To coordinate a pick-up or drop-off of these items, please email: and a member of our team will assist you.

Improving Access to Healthcare

To comply with social distancing regulations, many of our medical services have transitioned to telehealth visits. Unfortunately, many in our community do not have access to smartphones, tablets or computers and are unable to complete these telehealth sessions. To help connect our community to its caregivers, we are accepting donations of new in packaging iPads and iPhones to improve access to services. Please email: if you are able to contribute.

We have been overwhelmed with the response to our hand-sewn mask-making effort! At the present time, we have enough hand-sewn masks and urge you to consider donating handmade masks to other local organizations.
