Gold Certified Safe Sleep Hospital

Each year, approximately 3,500 infants die from sleep-related accidents that cause suffocation, strangulation or undetermined causes. Lowell General Hospital was the first in the state to be recognized as a Gold Certified Safe Sleep Hospital by The Cribs for Kids® National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification program and has continued to be recognized for modeling safe infant sleep in the hospital and providing education to families, which has a significant effect on infant mortality.
