Taste of the Town

The Auxiliary's signature event

The Auxiliary’s 28th Annual Taste of the Town Raised Over $60k for Lowell General Hospital Patients and Services

A sold out crowd of 400 guests enjoyed the Merrimack Valley’s finest culinary creations at the annual Taste of the Town held at the UMass Lowell Inn and Conference Center on Sunday, October 26.

“The success was made possible by the dedicated woman of the Auxiliary board, the volunteers and the wonderful restaurants,” said Carrie Meikle, Lowell General Auxiliary President. “The talented chefs never cease to amaze guests with the wide variety of impressive foods and beautiful table presentations. The evening is a wonderful event where residents come together to enjoy a night out while supporting the services that Lowell General provides to the community.”

The festivities included the Parade of Chefs, a live auction and eighteen raffle baskets. The evening’s featured auction item, generously donated by John and Linda Chemaly, John and Elaine Thibault and Dr. and Mrs. Eric Meikle, was “A Mount Washington Getaway” for four, including two deluxe rooms, meals, golf or spa and private carriage or sleigh ride.

Attendees voted on their favorite tasting dishes, naming participating restaurants and caterers as “People’s Choice Award” winners, including:

  • Best Appetizer: Tuna Tartare Nacho by Del Frisco’s
  • Best Entrée: Gorgonzola Encrusted Tenderloin with Horseradish Whipped Potato/Roasted Shallot Demi Glaze by Lenzi’s
