Lowell General Hospital offers a surgical facility uniquely set outside of the main hospital at The Surgery Center at LGH Chelmsford, located in North Chelmsford, MA. This ambulatory daycare facility is a choice for those having a surgical procedure that does not require an overnight hospital stay.

Many of the surgeons who work out of the main campus also perform ambulatory daycare surgeries at our Surgery Center. Along with our surgical nursing team and anesthesiologists, expert personalized care is presented in an environment that is smaller and quieter than the typical hospital setting. The Surgery Center offers a relaxed and more convenient option to our day surgery patients beginning with our hassle-free parking.

Introducing Surgi-Sam!

Surgi-Sam with Kids When your child needs surgery, it can raise fears and concerns. Fortunately, scheduling an elective procedure means there is time to help prepare your child psychologically. With the help of the pediatric surgical nurses at Lowell General, Surgi-Sam a stuffed monkey, teaches children about the surgical experience in a manner that is non-threatening and understandable from a child's perspective.

Participation in this program helps reduce your child's fear of the unknown by providing a better understanding of what he or she will experience as a patient. This makes the surgery process easier for the child and less stressful for the family, too.
