Our Team

Our Palliative Care core team is comprised of a physician, nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialists. We work with spiritual care providers, social workers, case managers, nursing staff, dietitians, pharmacists and physical therapists to address the needs of the patient.

Team Profiles

Ramya Prabhakar, MD
Medical Director, Palliative Care

Dr. Ramya Prabhakar is board-certified in hospice and palliative medicine as well as internal medicine. Dr. Prabhakar has been a hospitalist for 10 years and started the palliative care service at Saints Campus. She became the director of palliative care at Lowell General Hospital and advocates for recognizing symptom burden in patients with complex medical problems. Dr. Prabhakar helps patients and families create individualized plans to meet their specific care goals.

Sabine Clasen, BSN, RN, CHPN

Sabine has been a nurse for 20 years and has experience in areas including critical care, general nursing, dialysis and palliative and hospice care. She is certified in hospice and palliative care and joined the Palliative Care team at Lowell General Hospital in 2016. Sabine is enrolled in a graduate studies program at the Southern New Hampshire University pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in quality and patient safety. She is a native of Germany and is fluent in German. 

Suzanne Trudel, RN, BSN, CHPN

Suzanne has been a registered nurse for 40 years. She worked in home hospice and palliative care for more than 15 years before accepting palliative care nursing position at Lowell General Hospital. Suzanne is certified in hospice and palliative care (CHPN). She plays an active role in educating nurses about palliative care and how it improves the quality of life in people with complex medical conditions.

Jillian Tran, Practice Coordinator

Jillian is a graduate of Lincoln Technical Institute in RI, and started her career at Lowell General Hospital in 2012. In addition to her role in Palliative Care, Jillian is trained as an EKG technician and in patient observation.
