Director, Lowell General Hospital Pain Management Center
Dr. G.K. Dwarakanath, the Director of the Pain Management Center, is an anesthesiologist who specializes in the area of pain management. A full-time pain management specialist, he began the program at Lowell General in 1986 and has been managing chronic pain and cancer-related pain for more than 25 years.
Dr. Dwarakanath previously practiced as an anesthesiologist at Beth Israel Hospital's Pain Management Center in Boston, and at Harvard Medical School. His medical career also includes seven years in England and Sweden, where he developed his extensive experience in the area of pain management. Dr. Dwarakanath is board-certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine.
