Survivorship Day 2008

Cancer Center Celebrates Survivorship with First Annual LiveStrong Day

V-team celebrates survivorshipSurvivorship ... it is a journey from the very moment of cancer diagnosis and it continues with you forever. "While cancer may leave your body, it never leaves your life." Those are the words used by Lance Armstrong as he describes the importance of the LiveStrong Day, an event celebrated in communities around the country to celebrate survivorship. Lowll General Hospital joined the nation in celebration of LiveStrong Day on May 15 with an afternoon of hope and sharing on the Quad as cancer survivors, their caregivers, friends and families gathered together.

Videos from LiveStrong brought to life that we were joining thousands of others around the nation, others facing and fighting the same fight - demonstrating solidarity and camaraderie. Bailey the pet therapy dog made his rounds, happily visiting with regular friends from his "job" at The Cancer Center and meeting new ones.
