18th Annual Lowell General Challenge Golf Tournament Raises $412,487 to Support Healthcare Initiatives and Enhancements

August 27, 2013 - Bolton, MA - The rain held off and the sun came out for a fun-filled day at the Lowell General Golf Challenge. The event, now in its 18th year, raised more than $412,000 to support programs at Lowell General Hospital's main and Saints campuses, as well as healthcare initiatives across the hospital's service area. More than 230 golfers hit the links at the tournament, held at the International in Bolton on Monday, August 26.

Golfers enjoyed lunch, special gifts and contests and an auction and awards dinner. "We are incredibly fortunate that so many sponsors and friends of Lowell General Hospital come out each year for this great tournament and support our patients and their families," said Joseph White, President of Lowell General Hospital. "We offer our sincere thanks to our tournament sponsor, Cerner, as well as our major sponsors: Tufts Medical Center, Market Basket/Demoulas Foundation, Lowell Five and Shields Health Care; participants, friends, Lowell General staff and volunteers for making this tournament such a huge success."
