Email Page15th Annual LGH Challenge Golf Tournament Raises Record-breaking $361,000.00
Lowell General Hospital Fundraiser Propels Historic Capital Campaign
September 3, 2010 - Lowell, Mass. - Sponsors and friends of Lowell General Hospital raised more than $361,000 to support the hospital's capital expansion and renovation project, The Legacy Project, at the 15th Anniversary LGH Challenge Golf Tournament held on August 30th.
Golfers enjoyed the challenging terrain of both The Pines and The Oaks Courses at The International in Bolton, MA. Guests enjoyed luxurious amenities to round out the day, including a barbecue on the course, spa offerings, and special contests and gifts.
Proceeds from the event will benefit The Legacy Fund; the historic capital campaign for the expansion of Lowell General Hospital. The centerpiece of the Legacy Project will be a new and enhanced Emergency and Trauma Department, private patient rooms, new operating suites, and enhanced day surgery unit. Reinvestment in the facilities of the hospital will ensure continued innovation and access to exceptional local healthcare for generations to come.
“With the support of our sponsors, donors and the community, The Legacy Project expansion is visibly moving forward as construction begins on our Varnum Avenue campus,” shared Normand Deschene, president and chief executive officer of Lowell General Hospital.
This year’s Tournament sponsor was Cain Brothers and Company. Masters sponsors included Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Demoulas Foundation, Gilbane Construction, Lowell Surgical Associates and Trinity EMS, Inc.
