Patient Family Advisory Council

PFAC logo for webThe Lowell General Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC) began meeting in September 2010 and currently includes 10 patient and family members and three LGH staff members.

In their first year, the LGH PFAC members gave valuable insights and contributed to the development of patient care initiatives as LGH experienced growing volumes and began the Legacy Project, constructing a new building and transforming the Hospital.

The PFAC met six times in their first year and accomplished a great deal. They crafted and approved the Policies and Procedures for the Council and provided valuable feedback on a variety of LGH materials and processes. For instance, the PFAC reviewed the Skylight interactive TV system; looked at our Rapid Response system brochure; discussed our proposed new patient whiteboards; and reviewed our visitor policy. They are excited to be a part of our Legacy Transformation Project and will meet and view the mock-up of our new patient rooms, as well as touring our new building at various stages of development.

As Lowell General builds the new Lowell General, and moves beyond, the PFAC's partnership and growth are an integral key to our success in meeting our Mission, Patients First in Everything We Do, and our Vision: To be One of the Best Community Hospitals in America.
