The Lowell General Hospital Auxiliary  will hold its annual Daffodils and Desserts Day event on March 17th from 9:00am-4:00pm  at both the Main Campus and Saints Campus. The Cancer Center Receives Major Accreditation

The Cancer Center got another major national endorsement of its quality earlier this month when Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) granted a three-year accreditation. To earn this voluntary accreditation, a cancer program must meet 34 quality care standards, be evaluated every three years through a survey process and maintain levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive, patient-centered care. When preparing for a day on the slopes, packing a helmet has become just as vital as the skis and snowboards. Heart CT Calcium Scoring Helps Detect Heart Disease

The first sign of coronary artery disease is calcification — calcium deposits in plaque on the inside walls of your arteries. Using a special imaging technique called high-speed CT, plaque and calcification are measured, yielding what’s called a cardiac calcium score.
