Region's largest single-day fundraiser benefits area cancer patients and families

With smiles, sneakers and inspiring stories, 5,000 cancer survivors, walkers, supporters, sponsors and volunteers celebrated the 12th annual TeamWalk for CancerCare and the record-breaking $854,126 raised by the event on Sunday, May 15th.

TeamWalk funds make a difference in the lives of today's cancer patients by paying for medications, nutritional supplements, wigs and prostheses, support groups, skilled nursing visits, transportation, mini-grants and other supportive services to patients of all cancer types. Funds enable Lowell General Hospital to provide assistance, support, and services to help people feel better, build confidence and instill hope throughout the cancer journey.

Donations continue to be accepted for TeamWalk 2011 online, or by check payable to TeamWalk for CancerCare sent to Lowell General Hospital, 295 Varnum Avenue, Lowell, MA 01854. You may also "Text to Donate" by texting TEAM to 27722 to donate $5 through your wireless carrier.
