Brigid Donovan, daughter of Erin Donovan, Director of Quality and Risk at Lowell General Hospital, is a graduate of Andover High School and will attend Saint Anselm College in the fall to study nursing. Brigid is involved with many different types of activities and exemplifies a strong passion for volunteering. She calls herself a true believer of what Confucius says about work: "Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life." To her, nursing is an occupation where as long as you love it, it will not feel like work. As a volunteer at Lowell General over the past four summers, she was able to discover that she wants to become a nurse.

Elsa Kallman, daughter of Ellen Kallman, Director of Philanthropy at Lowell General Hospital, is a graduate of Ipswich High School and will attend McGill University in the fall to study psychology. Elsa's desire to help people with empathy and compassion is exemplified through her volunteer work. She hopes to be the crucial support a person may need in a time of hardship. She plans to obtain an undergraduate degree in psychology and continue on to graduate school where she intends to become a physician's assistant.

The Medical Staff Scholarship Fund is established and maintained by the physicians of the hospital. The fund supports the future of healthcare with a financial award to graduating high school/secondary school seniors are Lowell General Hospital employees (or children of employees) and who are enrolling in a heath science program.
