Circle Health Appoints David Pickul, MD as Chief Medical Officer

Circle Health, the parent organization of Lowell General Hospital, recently announced the appointment of North Andover resident David Pickul, MD to the role of Chief Medical Officer for Circle Health, effective March 1, 2013.

David Pickul, MD Chief Medical Officer for Circle HealthIn this new senior leadership role, Dr. Pickul will focus on Circle Health network development and physician alignment, working to build and strengthen strategic relationships among provider groups including the Lowell General Physician Hospital Organization (PHO).

"As we work to implement a strategic plan that will position Circle Health for success, it is vital that we align, engage and integrate all Circle Health physicians and allied health professionals to provide our patients with Complete connected care," said Normand Deschene, President and Chief Executive Officer of Circle Health. "To support that goal, we must have an innovative physician leader focused on steering these efforts at the system level."

Dr. Pickul brings extensive experience to his new position. He maintains a private practice in internal medicine at Mill City Medical Group in Lowell, Massachusetts where he currently serves as president. He has held several physician leadership roles over the course of his career, most recently serving as the Chairman of the Board for the Lowell General Physician Hospital Organization since 2011, and previously worked as the PHO's Medical Director. He previously served as President of Lowell General Hospital's Medical Staff and Chief of Lowell General Hospital's Department of Medicine.

Dr. Pickul earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Rhode Island and a medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Pickul completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC, where he also served as Chief Medical Resident.
