Nursing Education

The Nursing Education Department, comprised of specialty specific Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Specialists, supports Lowell General Hospital's commitment to a highly skilled and competent nursing staff. This team of professionals reviews evidence-based practices to offer education for clinical staff so they can provide state of the art and high quality patient care. To address the continual change in health care, technology and the changing health care needs of our community, the Nursing Education Department provides on-going education in each specialty area. Nurse competency is assessed, developed and maintained through orientation, in-service education, annual skills reviews, continuing education and leadership development.

Lowell General Hospital acknowledges the value of national specialty certification across all nursing disciplines. Specialty certification is encouraged and staff are supported in obtaining specialty certification. Lowell General Hospital also values membership to professional organizations and supports attendance at regional and national conferences.
