How Do I Use the LGH Web Library?

The LGH Web Library uses National Library of Medicine classification for organizing its selected sites. If you're familiar with NLM, you'll find the LGH Web Library very much like a medical library in ‘layout.' If NLM is new to you, you'll still navigate with ease. No special knowledge is required.

Follow these steps to use the LGH Web Library:

  • Select the Web Library link from the Library introductory page, or click here to directly access.
  • Once there, you can choose to view the Professional Health and Business Sources, or the Consumer Health Sources.
  • Once you've selected Professional or Consumer sources, you'll see boxes with links inside. Remember to scroll down the entire page-there are many links!
  • Simply click on the link to the subject that most closely matches your topic. All of the sites related to that topic will appear.
  • Can't find what you're looking for? At the top of both the Professional and Consumer sections is a link ‘Browse all Listings by Title/ Author Subject.' This is like looking through a card catalogue alphabetically, and includes all the listings in the section.
  • Note that the Consumer and Professional listings are not identical, nor are they combined. Think of them as different rooms in a library with two separate card catalogues, and you'll have the general idea.
