Pilates

Pilates focuses on training the mind and body to work together toward overall fitness. Most traditional exercise programs focus only on strengthening the large muscle groups, ignoring the deeper and smaller stabilizing muscles. In this class, students will learn Pilates exercises to strengthen the core trunk muscles from the inside out. Through controlled and concentrated movements centered with breath awareness and dynamic spinal and abdominal stabilization, students will develop postural alignment along with more uniform and longer, leaner muscles.

Cost: $45

Mondays from 5:30-6:30pm in Hanchett Auditorium unless otherwise noted:

  • September 10th- October 15th

About the Instructor

Chris Kandianis is a STOTT™ certified Pilates instructor, ACSM certified personal trainer and yoga instructor with a special interest and training in injuries, postural and orthopedic issues and anatomy.  She has been passionate about fitness for over 30 years and pursues biking, skiing, rock climbing and hiking.
