Prepared Childbirth

This six-week prepared childbirth class provides information about the physical and emotional changes occurring during pregnancy, labor, and delivery. The course includes breathing and relaxation techniques, comfort techniques, medication and anesthesia options for labor and delivery. Infant care issues and the adjustment to parenthood will also be discussed. A tour of The Birthplace is included. Classroom teaching includes videos, demonstrations, and discussions. The expectant father or support person should attend all sessions.

The $150 fee covers the expectant mom, the support person and all materials.

Insurance Reimbursement and Financial Assistance:
Many insurance companies offer reimbursement for attending childbirth education classes. Proof of payment and a letter of completion are often required. Letters are given out at the end of each class. Check with your insurance company to see if your plan offers reimbursement.
