We invite you on a virtual walking tour of our Labor and Delivery Unit and Mother and Infant Unit. Tour the rooms, nursery and learn everything you need to know before delivering your baby at Lowell General.

Meet our physicians and care teams, learn about labor and delivery and postpartum care, and hear from new moms about family-centered care at the Birthplace.

Teen Prepared Childbirth (Includes Birthplace Tour)

Open to any pregnant teen under the age of 19

This FREE* three-hour class will cover signs of labor, the progression of labor and birth, pain management options and techniques, the role of a labor partner, when to call your healthcare provider, postpartum care, breastfeeding as well as basic infant care and safety. Healthy snacks will be provided. Bus tokens are available as needed. Space is limited and registration is required.

This class includes a tour of The Birthplace

*Grant money provided by Greater Lowell Community Foundation.

This class is offered the first Thursday of every month from 3:00-6:00pm in the Hanchett Auditorium at Lowell General Hospital's Main Campus.
