Understanding what is happening inside your body is the first step in helping you to get better. Diagnostic services give your doctor the tools to know what they need to properly and quickly assess your condition and start you on the path to recovery.
Lowell General Hospital has a full range of diagnostic services for inpatients, outpatients, emergency and surgical patients.
Locations for Testing
We provide three locations for diagnostic tests. While the main hospital offers nearly all diagnostic services, our satellite locations, The Patient Service Center at Lowell General Hospital's Chelmsford Campus and the Women's Imaging Center in Chelmsford may be a more convenient or comfortable setting for you.

Going for Diagnostic Testing
Most diagnostic services require a prescription from your doctor and depending on your test you may be required to schedule an appointment. For tests such as x-rays and blood-work, you may simply walk-in for service. Please be sure to obtain all referrals and bring prescriptions or doctor's orders if you are making the appointment yourself.
