Patient Responsibilities
Hospital rules and regulations apply to you and your visitors as well as our employees and representatives. Such responsibilities may include, but need not be limited to:- Reasonable and responsible behavior on the part of you and your family, including respect and consideration for the rights of other patients and hospital personnel.
- Following the hospital's rules, including:
- No smoking anywhere in the hospital buildings
- Assisting with the control of noise
- Observing visiting hours and limiting the number of visitors.
- Giving, to the best of your knowledge, accurate and complete details about your present condition, past illnesses, hospitalizations, medications and other matters relating to your health.
- Reporting perceived risks in your care and unexpected changes in your condition to the doctor or health care professional.
- Following the treatment plan developed with your doctor or health care provider. You should express any concerns about your ability to follow treatment plan, and every effort will be made to adapt the plan to your needs. When change of the plan is clinically possible, your are responsible for understanding the results of the treatment alternatives and of not following the proposed treatment plan.
- Asking questions when you do not understand what you have been told or are expected to do.
- Refusal of treatment - You are responsible for the outcome if you refuse treatment or do not follow the doctor's instructions.
- Assuring that financial obligations are fulfilled as promptly as possible.
