Lowell General Hospital Promotes Amy Hoey, RN, BSN to Vice President of Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer

 Lowell, MA - Lowell General Hospital is pleased to announce that Amy Hoey, RN, BSN, has been promoted to the executive team as Vice President of Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer.

Hoey, who joined Lowell General in the role of Director of Ambulatory and Transitional Care Services in 1997, brings more than 20 years of nursing and educational experience to her new position. "During her tenure, Amy Hoey has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to compassionate patient care and uncompromising clinical excellence," said Normand E. Deschene, President and Chief Executive Officer. "We are confident she is the right person to lead our nursing division into the future and support our vision of becoming one of the best community hospitals in America."

As Vice President of Patient Care Services, Hoey will be responsible for daily operations related to patient care, compliance with regulatory standards and performance improvement, risk management, infection control, and case management.

As Chief Nursing Officer, Hoey will provide leadership for the Division of Nursing, encouraging the spirit of nursing while empowering her staff to develop and manage their departments to provide excellence in patient care.

Hoey - who makes her home in Pepperell with her husband and two children - holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education from the University of Lowell, a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Salem State College, and most recently earned a Master of Science degree in Administration from Central Michigan University. Prior to joining Lowell General Hospital, Hoey served as Director of Nursing Services at Westford Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers.
