Grand Rounds

Foremost among our CME activities are LGH Grand Rounds. Grand Rounds are given by a wide variety of speakers from a multiplicity of disciplines. They serve to assist LGH affiliated physicians and non-affiliated Greater Lowell physicians in keeping abreast of new developments in the field of medicine, and to provide opportunity to gain Category 1 credit toward the AMA Physicians Recognition Award (TM) conveniently. Grand Rounds speakers are top-notch professionals selected on the basis of relevant outstanding, unusual, or timely contributions to the medical field.

Audience

All physicians in the Greater Lowell Area and LGH staff are welcome to attend.

Grand Rounds programs are free of charge, and CME credit is issued on the basis of both program sign-in (required) and completed evaluation forms. Sign-In Sheets and Program Evaluations are available at every Grand Rounds session.

For the convenience of LGH staff, most Grand Rounds are videotaped. All LGH affiliated physicians are encouraged to avail themselves of online CME made from these recordings. The LGH Health Science Library also loans CME recordings in DVD and VHS formats.

To see what CME programs are available, go to the library catalogue . Use the words CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION in the search box. LGH staff may request DVDs and VHS tapes located in the catalogue by emailing the librarian to initiate a request.

Lowell General Hospital designates each educational activity for a maximum of 1 (one) category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award (TM). Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the activity. Lowell General Hospital is accredited by the Massachusetts Medical Society to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
