Extraordinary People Who Care...
Volunteers play a vital role at Lowell General Hospital. Each year they provide thousands of hours of service to the hospital, to the patients and to the staff.
Lowell General Hospital offers volunteer opportunities at our Main Campus on Varnum Avenue in Lowell, our Saints Campus on Hospital Drive in Lowell, as well as our offsite locations. Volunteer opportunities include:
- assisting on nursing units
- hospitality services
- gift shop
- delivering patient cards and flowers
- clerical work
- patient transport
Our Mission
The mission of the Volunteer Services Department is inspired by the values and the mission of Lowell General Hospital. Our volunteers are committed to complementing hospital staff in being responsive to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our patients, while at the same time, respecting the dignity, cultural diversity and individuality of all volunteers.
We welcome your questions about volunteering at Lowell General Hospital. You may reach us by phone at 978-937-6280. The Volunteer Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm. If no one is available, please leave a message and we will return your call.
