Peter J. Zarrilla, MS, M.Ed.

Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer

Peter J. ZarrillaPeter J. Zarrilla serves on the hospital's Senior Leadership Team as Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer. Prior to joining Lowell General, Peter served as the Senior Human Resources Consultant at Private Health Care Systems in Waltham, Massachusetts. For more than 20 years, he has held Senior Human Resource Management positions with several of New England's high-tech, manufacturing and service-related organizations.

His role at Lowell General includes: continuously improving staffing effectiveness, developing initiatives and programs that meet the needs of Lowell General's present and potential employees, and positioning the hospital as an employer of choice in the region. Lowell General Hospital employees rated the hospital as a Boston Globe Top 100 Places to Work (2010) and one of the Boston Business Journal's Best Place to Work in Massachusetts (2010-2012) as well as one of Modern Healthcare's Best Places to Work in Healthcare (2011).

Mr. Zarrilla is a member of the VHA's Northeast Strategic Advisory Council and the Massachusetts Hospital Association. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Lowell, House of Hope, and as Chairman of the Board of the Massachusetts Hospital Association Insurance Agency (MHAIA).

Mr. Zarrilla holds an M.Ed in Counseling from Westfield State College, an M.S. in Clinical Psychology from American International College, and a B.S. in Zoology/Psychology from The University of New Hampshire.
