Lynne Cole, Chaplain

Spiritual Care Department, Main Campus

“Working with Lynne reminds me of how valuable our Spiritual Care Department is at Lowell General,” says Maureen Ide, RN, Intensive Care Unit of Lynne Cole, April’s Star Performer of the Month. “Not only does she give 100% to patients and their families, but to her fellow staff as well. She is a wonderful listener and shares her knowledge to the best of her ability. We are very fortunate to have her here with us.”

Lynne started at Lowell General Hospital as an intern in the Spiritual Care Department in September 2011. She was ordained in June of 2012 and became a full-time chaplain at the main campus of Lowell General in September 2012.

“Lynne does an amazing job with patients and families, especially those in the Intensive Care Unit,” says Carol Gagne, Director of Mission and Chaplaincy, Spiritual Care Department. “She always gives all of herself to her work, coming in on the weekends to check on patients. She even came in on Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday to make sure that all of the patients received palms.”

It is clear Lynne loves the work she does, and it shows by the response she gets from her patients. Many ask for her by name once they have met her. She always makes herself available for patients and families when they ask her to stay.

Lynne lives in North Chelmsford with Walter, her husband of 17 years. She also has two adult step children. When she is not at work, Lynne loves to stay busy with reading, yard work, knitting, quilting and hiking.

Congratulations, Lynne! You’re a Star!
