Star Performer, Cheryl Lane"Her enthusiasm and pride in her profession is an inspiration to all," is how co-workers describe Cheryl Lane, RN, our November Star Performer of the Month.

Cheryl has been a full-time RN for close to two years with the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at The Surgery Center. In her role, she cares for patients in the recovery room post-surgery, as well as readying patients for discharge. She is known for making patients feel they are her top priority, a caring and professional in every sense.

Cheryl shows this same commitment to her co-workers and profession, always taking on additional responsibilities without hesitation. For example, she serves on the Nursing Informatics Committee as the ELMER representative for the Surgical Center. She communicates updates and trains new staff, as well as making recommendations to provide better care for patients.

"She is a true team player with exceptional knowledge and a love for new technology," says Barbara Jesionowski, RN. "Cheryl is known for tirelessly putting in extra hours on the ELMER system and never hesitating to mentor others."

"Cheryl is very in-tune to the needs at The Surgery Center, and a true asset to our surgical patients. She maintains a professional and calming demeanor, as well as her attention to detail," says Susan Beaulieu, RN, BS, CNOR, Director of Surgical and Outpatient Services.

Cheryl lives in Salem, NH, and in her spare time she enjoys crafts, painting, quilting, and traveling on cross-country road trips.
