Star Performer, Gail Mitchell"She creates an atmosphere of true service, which translates into happy patients," is how co-workers describe Gail Mitchell, our January Star Performer of the Month.

Gail has been a valued member of the Patient Access team for over four years. In her role, she is responsible for all aspects of patient registration. This includes greeting patients and working with other LGH departments and doctors' offices to acquire all pertinent patient information. Gail is known to do it all "flawlessly", as evidenced by her high quality scores. She consistently shows strong attention to detail, and treats all of our patients like part of the family.

Gail's strong interpersonal skills help bring a warm, caring touch to a clinical environment. She helps ease patients' fears and worries by getting to know them, their history, and talking with them to make them more comfortable.

"Gail is a dream employee, and she puts so much into the human aspect of her job," says Nan Caizzo, Patient Service Center Supervisor. Nan advised that Gail has played a significant role in the growth of the Patient Service Center at Lowell General Chelmsford.

Gail grew up in Lowell where she resides with her husband Paul. They have one married daughter, Jennifer, a cat "Shamrock", and a large group of wonderful friends. She is very involved with her family, taking care of her mother and nephew Brendan. Between her family and her friends, Gail keeps very busy. She wouldn't have it any other way!
