Lisa Marquis"A true professional in all aspects of her job, with an amazing ability to multi-task while taking care of needs of others," is how co-workers describe Lisa Marquis, our May Star Performer of the Month.

Lisa began her career at LGH over 25 years ago, first in the Community Relations Department and then later in Nursing Administration. As Nursing Staffing Coordinator, she enters schedules for the nursing units, coordinates patient sitters, maintains education files for the nursing department, and works closely with the Administrative Coordinators to ensure staffing needs are met for each shift.

"Lisa is a Star Performer due to her dedication to her job, co-workers and the hospital," says Linda Elliott, RN, Director of Professional Development. "For example, last year the staffing office had two vacancies on the evening and weekend shifts. Without hesitation, Lisa picked up the weekends, flexed her daytime hours and spent extra time to orient the new staff. She is a real team player, and always flexible to help provide coverage."

In her role, Lisa is known to be very conscientious as she deals with each problem or issue that comes across her desk. She has clear and concise communication skills, strong problem-solving ability, and optimistic manner. As she interfaces with staff members on all levels, she proves time and time again she will do whatever it takes to get the job done.

"I think Lisa's commitment to coworkers is evident in her eagerness to help anyone, anywhere, at any time," says Paula Rousseau, Nursing Department. For example, Lisa consistently encourages the Patient Sitters to take Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) classes for their safety and extended training."

Lisa lives in Lowell with her husband Al and children, Sarah and James. In her spare time, she likes to garden, read, or spend time relaxing with friends.
