Laurie Szawlowski-Doty, RN, CEN

Emergency Room

"Never afraid to roll up her sleeves and pitch in, and always there to go above and beyond for her patients." This is how co-workers describe the nursing expertise and dedication of Laurie Szawlowski-Doty, RN, CEN, our July Star Performer of the Month.

Laurie began her career at LGH over 25 years ago. As a Charge Nurse in the Emergency Department, she helps monitor patient flow through the department and ensure high quality care. Her extensive nursing experience has made her an exceptional leader with a "When you have the tiniest or sickest of patients, Laurie's the one you want on your team," says Traci McPadden, RN, CEN, Clinical Manager. "Her dedication to her profession is second to none, as she has maintained her certification for over 10 years as a CEN, and consistently contributes her experience and ideas on our Unit-based Council."

As one of the most experienced nurses in the ED, Laurie is always ready to share her knowledge with others to help them grow. She takes pride in her work and shows a real ownership in her role. "Laurie's work ethic is exemplary, and she is a role model for all nurses in the hospital," says Joanne Richard, RN, CEN. She will always take the time to assist staff to make sure we handle even the busiest of days with the highest level of care. She is a Star Performer through and through."

Laurie lives in Hollis, NH with her husband Larry. She is an avid runner, loves dogs, dancing, and spending time with her four children.
