Alison Faulhaber"She is like Radar O'Reilly from M.A.S.H... I only have to think about it or ask once and the job is done," describes the timeliness of service by Alison Faulhaber, our February Star Performer of the Month.

Alison began her career here at LGH in 2007 in the Occupational Health Department. In her role, she assists staff experiencing physical discomforts in their work environment. As a member of the Nursing Practice Council, she focuses on nursing injury trends and the deployment of safety action plans to reduce further injuries.

Alison is a strong safety advocate for all employees. A visit with Occupational Health is one of the steps our new employees need to complete for hire. Alison ensures this visit is a positive one for our new team members. If there is a way to promote safety and preparedness, Alison is there!

"Alison is always willing to go above and beyond her work duties to improve operations in Occupational Health," says Sukie Connolly, RN, Manager of Occupational Health and Emergency Management Coordinator. "She was a key contributor during the hospital's H1N1 Pandemic Response, and even traveled to the Center of Domestic Preparedness in Alabama for additional training on influenza response best practices."

Alison also served on the Magnet® task force, and serves on committees related to Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Rounds, Safety, and the Employee Wellness Council. And while Alison takes her job very seriously, she is known to find the humor when appropriate to the situation. This is a valuable trait for working in healthcare.

Alison lives in Lawrence and is very active in sports. When she is not working you may find her climbing Mt. Washington, participating in a 3-day walk for breast cancer, kayaking, or biking.
